Ready for Dental Implants?

You Should See a Dental Implant Expert Over a General Dentist

Having dental implants placed isn’t like having a dental filling done – it’s a more invasive and serious procedure. That doesn’t mean you should be afraid of dental implants; it simply means you should carefully consider the dental implant expert who places them.

Dr. Damon, Dr. Mohr, and their team are highly experienced when it comes to dental implants. Dr. Damon averages 50 dental implant placements in just a week. When you choose Texas Implant and Dental Center, you can rest assured you are in the hands of experts.

An Investment In Your Health & Happiness

Dental implants have become an increasingly popular option for patients who have lost one or more teeth. Dental implants are considered a permanent solution for tooth loss and are designed to function and look like natural teeth. Dental implants have many benefits over other tooth replacement options, such as dentures and bridges. However, dental implants can be expensive, and patients may be tempted to seek out a general dentist to perform the procedure in order to save on costs. In this article, we will discuss why it is important to see a dental implant expert, such as Dr. Damon or Dr. Mohr, over a general dentist and how that relates to the cost of dental implants in Amarillo, TX.

What Are Dental Implants?

Before we discuss the cost of dental implants, let’s briefly review what dental implants are and how they work. A dental implant is a titanium post that is surgically inserted into the jawbone to replace the missing tooth root. After the implant is placed, a crown or bridge is attached to the implant, creating a natural-looking and functioning tooth. Dental implants are considered a permanent solution for tooth loss because they are designed to last a lifetime with proper care.

Dental Implant Cost

The cost of dental implants can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the number of teeth being replaced, the location of the missing teeth, and the patient’s overall dental health. One of the largest factors when it comes to the dental implant cost in Amarillo, TX, is that of the dentist who is doing the procedure and their experience.

The cost may seem like a significant amount of money, but it is important to remember that dental implants are designed to last a lifetime with proper care. The success of the implant and how long they last are not only dependent on how you care for them, but more importantly, it is dependent on the dentist who places them.

Our dental implant experts create customized implants through our in-house dental lab. Our team will provide the quick, personalized care you need to ensure a comfortable prosthesis that maintains your ability to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

Why You Should See a Dental Implant Expert

While a general dentist may be able to perform the dental implant procedure, it is important to see a dental implant expert, such as Dr. Damon or Dr. Mohr, for several reasons, including specialized training and experience, a customized treatment plan, the use of advanced technology, and the long-term investment.

Specialized Training and Experience

Dental implant experts receive specialized training and have extensive experience in performing dental implant procedures. They have a deep understanding of the anatomy of the jawbone and the techniques necessary to ensure the implant is placed in the proper location. Dental implant experts also have experience in handling any complications that may arise during the procedure.

By contrast, a general dentist may only have a basic understanding of dental implant procedures and may not have the same level of experience and training. While a general dentist may be able to perform the procedure, they may not be as familiar with the most up-to-date techniques and technologies that are available to dental implant experts.

Dr. Damon is one of the only dentists in the Amarillo area who performs bone grafting at his dental office – as we are a true dental implant center. If you need a graft in order to get dental implants, he can oftentimes place the graft and implant simultaneously to minimize your treatment period.

Customized Treatment Plan

Each patient’s dental needs are unique, and a dental implant expert can create a customized treatment plan that is tailored to the individual patient. Dental implant experts take into account a patient’s dental health, medical history, and overall oral health when creating a treatment plan. This allows for the implant to be placed in the most optimal location, ensuring the long-term success of the procedure.

By contrast, a general dentist may not have the same level of expertise in creating customized treatment plans for dental implants. This can lead to complications during the procedure or a less-than-optimal outcome for the patient.

Use of Advanced Technology

Dental implant experts, such as Dr. Damon and Dr. Mohr, use the most advanced technology when performing dental implant procedures. They use 3D imaging technology to create a detailed map of the patient’s jawbone, allowing them to place the implant in the most optimal location. They also use the latest dental implant materials, which are designed to be more durable and long-lasting than older materials.

By contrast, a general dentist may not have access to the same level of advanced technology or may not be as up-to-date with the latest materials and techniques in dental implant procedures. This can lead to a less-pleasant treatment experience and can ultimately end up costing more money in the long run.

Long-Term Cost Savings

While it may seem like seeing a dental implant expert may be more expensive than seeing a general dentist, in the long run, it can actually end up saving the patient money. Dental implant experts, such as Dr. Damon and Dr. Mohr, place a strong emphasis on ensuring the long-term success of the dental implant procedure. This means that the implant is placed in the most optimal location and is made from the most durable materials available. With proper care, a dental implant can last a lifetime, which can end up being more cost-effective in the long run than other tooth replacement options, such as dentures or bridges.

A general dentist may not have the same level of expertise in ensuring the long-term success of the dental implant procedure. This can lead to complications, such as implant failure or the need for additional procedures in the future, which, again, can end up costing the patient more money down the line.

Choosing the Right Dental Implant Expert

When choosing a dental implant expert, it is important to look for someone who has extensive experience and specialized training in dental implant procedures. It is also important to look for someone who uses the most advanced technology and materials available.

In Amarillo, TX, Dr. Damon and Dr. Mohr are both highly respected dental implant experts who have extensive experience and specialized training in dental implant procedures. They use the most advanced technology and materials available to ensure the long-term success of the dental implant procedure. They also create customized treatment plans for each patient, taking into account the individual’s dental needs and overall oral health.
